Comfort Food Worth the Detour
Cafe Chris has been the reason folks pull off the highway in Pleasanton for a proper meal. Whether you're headed up to the Frio River or just passing through on the way to San Antonio, our kitchen turns out the kind of scratch-made plates that make people say, "we have to stop here again next time."
We keep it simple and we keep it generous: golden chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken smothered in cream gravy, crispy tacos, patty melts (gluten-free bread available), grilled shrimp, hamburger steak, and a cheese soup that regulars can't get enough of. Portions are sized for hungry travelers and locals alike, and every table gets fresh-baked toast on the side.
